RS Erskine & Co. Ltd About
In the 1920s Andrew A Erskine set up his opticians and chemist shop in Fochabers. He moved to Bridge of Allan in 1943 and laid the foundations for R S Erskine & Co where one of the four sites remain today. The Dunblane practice was founded by Andrew's son Roy in 1965 and with the 1967 opening of the Auchterarder branch, help was enlisted in the shape of the recently retired optician Gordon Logan. In 1970 the new partners acquired the Crieff practice. Together they focused on expanding the business, working alongside each other until Roy retired in 1991. His legacy was then in the capable hands of Roy's son Niall and his wife Tracey, who oversaw the relocation to the bigger premises in Bridge of Allan in 2001 and Auchterarder in 2004. Niall and Tracey still run all four practices today.
Three generations of service and customer care awaits you in each of the R S Erskine practices.
Our staff provide a high quality of service and customer care and strive to provide a customised service to each of their patients. Erskine's heritage along with its employee's knowledge allow for consistency across all four practices. There is three generations worth of valuable 'know how' and business ethics that are embedded in the family run business. The experience gained from running a three generational family business is paramount in the service that Erskine provides. This invaluable know how underpins the business ethos that Erskine's are able to offer each and every patient.
The Erskine optometrist is interested in listening to the patient to understand and give the best option or advice where necessary. As an independent chain of opticians, Erskine's have the flexibility and freedom to offer the widest range of products.
Erskine optometrists are trained professionals whose skills in eye examination, sight testing and advice on visual problems are always professional and reliable. The optometrists prescribe and dispense glasses or contact lenses and are trained to recognise eye diseases, recommend alternative treatments and refer to consultants, if necessary.
